Comments by Cristiano Godano of Marlene Kuntz:

When Skin called it was a Thursday and I was going to rehearsals for our tour, that was going to start in a few weeks. After greetings she came straight to the point and told me that she would have liked to have Marlene Kuntz with their sound on her record. I told her "Great!", imagining that it would be happened in something like a month or close to it… Whilst I had these thoughts she said: "we will rehearse next Tuesday and on Wednesday we would record the 2 songs…" My expression was startled (anyway she couldn’t see me), but I answered: "Dear, it will be done... (inside I asked myself "what can we do in 2 days?!"). When we arrived in London we met in the rehearsal room and with her excellent bass player we worked hard all day. At the end we were satisfied in particular of one track and decided that it was enough. The evening we partied properly….The day after the performance in the studio was electrifying. We recorded it all together in a small room with the amps blasting and the drum skins beaten with healthy energy. Skin was among us simulating her singing to give us the timing for breaks and passages between different parts of the song. She jumped and wiggled as if we were on stage in front of a real audience. Looking at her between notes or just feeling her at our side with her physical involvement contributed a lot to the energy of the song, because what came from her multiplied our energies. The song became a perfect synthesis of a Skin-pop-sonic-marlene attitude: what I am sure she wanted for her record with that song. Another super memory that I brought with me from that day is that at the end of the recording she asked me to sign and write a dedication on her precious brand new guitar. I was so surprised she wanted an imperishable sign of mine on that shining red wood that my fantasy was a little embarrassed and all I could think of was a cute phrase but nothing more. So now, from her site, I want to let Skin know with more strength that Marlene love Skin, and consider her a special friend and wish her all good things. Forever
